Fallon - Crochet Earrings [Neutrals]
This design is my modern spin on the classic shell hoop earrings from my first book. I wanted to revisit that original concept and breathe new life into it—pushing texture, structure, and technique a step further. The result is a reverse shell pattern that gives the hoop a fresh, dimensional twist, forming a crown of beautifully ruffled shells that dance along the edge of the 30 mm frame.
These shells are created using my signature two-hook technique, a method I developed to achieve flawless, snag-free clusters. By wrapping slip stitches around paired hooks, each shell becomes a tight, sculptural knot with incredible definition—similar to a bullion but with its own unique personality. The technique creates soft movement and bold texture without losing the clean, polished look that makes crochet jewelry stand out.
This updated version carries the spirit of the original design but transforms it into something bolder, more architectural, and unmistakably Artes’Mess. The ruffled shells feel organic and rhythmic, giving the earrings a natural flow while still showcasing the precision of the stitchwork.
